Select Franciscan Themes in Magnifica Humanitas – On the Protection of the Human Person in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

Pope Leo’s recent encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, draws its insight from the collective wisdom of Catholic Social Teaching. Pope Leo applies this tradition to the ethical use of technology, especially regarding artificial intelligence. Select themes emerge in the encyclical that resonate particularly well within the Franciscan tradition. This presentation highlights a few of these Franciscan themes and invites the participants to identify others.
