Pope Leo’s recent encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, draws its insight from the collective wisdom of Catholic Social Teaching. Pope Leo applies this tradition to the ethical use of technology, especially regarding artificial intelligence. Select themes emerge in the encyclical that resonate particularly well within the Franciscan tradition. This presentation will highlight a few of these Franciscan themes and invite the participants to identify others.
