Join Us for Inspiring Discussions on Laudato Si’!

We’re excited to announce a series of talks as part of our Franciscan Zoom Lecture Series, where we delve into the profound dimensions of Pope Francis’ encyclical, Laudato Si’. This series goes beyond the conventional understanding of “catechesis,” extending its embrace to both new and mature believers who are called to embrace a radical vision of integral human development.

April 18, 2024: Laudato Si’ and Energy Transition: Perspectives from Working with Frontline Communities in New Mexico

Speaker: Joan Brown, OSF

The spiritual, moral and practical teachings of Laudato Si’ will be explored through the lens of work with frontline communities and people of faith in New Mexico & El Paso Region. Environmental justice and how Laudato Si’ can offer practical guidance and inspiration for a shift in our worldview and in practical ways as we move more deeply into on-the-ground implications of climate change will be covered. Franciscan-hearted people carry an important responsibility, sharing the genes of joy and community by living out the practical implications of Laudato Si’ in the energy transition sphere. Some tools and resources for the way forward for Franciscan-hearted folk will be offered.
