[The Office is recited daily from Good Friday to the Feast of the Ascension till this point. On the Feast of the Ascension, however, these versicles are added:]
- These verses express the victory of the Risen Lord whose resurrection was traditionally celebrated during Vespers. They contain sentiments of wonder and an eagerness to share the good news of salvation with all creation.
- Even in the midst of these declarations of joy, Francis returns to his central theme of entrance into the mystery of Christ’s Passion, the only path leading from death to life.
Officium passionis domini, Fontes Franciscani, p. 152-153
15Benedictus Dominus Deus Israel,

de proprio sanctissimo sanguine suo*
et non derelinquet omnes qui sperant in eo.
16Et scimus, quoniam venit*
quoniam veniet iustitiam iudicare.
