The Office of the Passion - 145

4On the path where I walked,*
the proud hid a trap for me. Ps 142:4 [Vulgate, Ps 141:4]
5I looked to my right and saw:*
there was no one who knew me. Ps 142:5 [Vulgate, Ps 141:5]
6I have no means of escape:*
there is no one who cares for my life. Ps 142:5 [Vulgate, Ps 141:5]
7I have borne abuse because of you*
and confusion covers my face. Ps 69:8 [Vulgate, Ps 68:8]
8I have become an outcast to my brothers,*
a stranger to the children of my mother. Ps 69:9 [Vulgate, Ps 68:9]
9Holy Father, zeal for your house has consumed me;* Jn 17:11
and the insults of those who blasphemed you have fallen on me. Ps 69:10 [Vulgate, Ps 68:10]
10They rejoiced and united together against me.*
Blows were heaped on me and I knew not why. Ps 35:15 [Vulgate, Ps 34:15]
11More numerous than the hairs of my head*
are those who hate me without cause. Ps 69:5 [Vulgate, Ps 68:5]
12Myenemies, who persecuted me unjustly, have been strengthened;*
I then repaid what I did not steal. Ps 69:5 [Vulgate, Ps 68:5]
13The wicked witnesses who rise up
asked me about things of which they are ignorant. Ps 35:11 [Vulgate, Ps 34:11]
14They repaid me evil for good and harassed me* Ps 35:12 [Vulgate, Ps 34:12]
because I pursued good. Ps 38:21 [Vulgate, Ps 37:21]
15You are my most holy Father*
my King and my God. Ps 44:5 [Vulgate, Ps 43:5]
16Come to my aid,*
Lord, God of my salvation. Ps 38:23 [Vulgate, Ps 37:23]

Officium passionis domini, Fontes Franciscani, p. 150-151

4In via hac qua ambulabam*
absconderunt superbi laqueum, mihi.
5Considerabam ad dexteram et videbam*
et non erat qui cognosceret me.
6Periit fuga a me*
et non est, qui requirat animam meam.
7Quoniam propter te sustinui opprobrium*
operuit confusio faciem meam.
8Extraneus factus sum fratribus meis*
et peregrinus filiis matris meae.
9Pater sancte, zelus domus tuae comedit me*
et opprobria exprobrantium tibi ceciderunt super me.
10Et adversum me laetati sunt et convenerant*
congregata sunt super me flagella et ignoravi.
11Multiplicati sunt super capillos capitis mei*
qui oderunt me gratis.
12Confortati sunt, qui persecuti sunt me
inimici mei iniuste quae non rapui tunc exsolvebam.
13Surgentes testes iniqui*
quae ignorabant interrogabant me.
14Retribuebant mihi mala pro bonis et detrahebant mihi*
quoniam sequebar bonitatem.
15Tu es sanctissimus pater meus
Rex meus et Deus meus.
16Intende in adiutorium meum*
Domine Deus salutis meae.
