BROTHER JOHN POSSESSES THE SPIRIT OF REVELATION

1 Certain people had dreadful and hidden sins which no one could know except through divine revelation. Some of these had died, and some were still living. Through divine revelation Brother John disclosed their hidden sins to those who were still alive.

2 As a result of this, they were converted to penance. One of them

said that the sin which Brother John disclosed was committed before Brother John was born to the world. The one to whom this happened told me. And they declared that the things Brother John had said about them were true.

4 It was revealed to him that some of them who had died perished in both a temporal and eternal death, and some, in only a temporal death; and this was demonstrated to him with certitude. And I saw a trustworthy brother who knew those people.

To the praise of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen.

A BROTHER SEES HIS BROTHER'S SOUL BEING CARRIED BY ANGELS

1 After the death of our blessed father Francis there were two brothers who were Brothers in the Order, Brother Pacifico and Brother Humilis, men of wonderful holiness and perfection. When one of them died at Soffiano, the other was staying in a place far away. While he was praying in a solitary, deserted place the hand of the Lord came over him and, rapt in ecstasy, he saw his brother's soul rise into heaven without any delay.

2 After many years had passed, the brother who was still living

was assigned to the family at Soffiano where his brother was buried. Then, at the request of the lords of Brunforte, the place at Soffiano was exchanged for another place, and the brothers also transferred there the remains of the holy brothers.a When they came to the tomb
