First Vespers

Antiphons:

1. Francis sated with drink
   of the thirsty cross of Jesus,
   wounded with the wounds of Jesus
   merits the honor of the Leader.

2. The King of Mercy
   did marvelous wonders in the flesh of Francis
   preceded by the splendor of uprightness.

3. Through Christ's true insignia, which he bore
   Francis will be famed throughout the world.
   in eternal memory.

4. Upon the humble Francis
   God looked most mercifully
   and made him someone noble
   by these signs
5. Francis is blessed
   by all born in this world
   for he is made in truth
   like to Christ in these wounds.

Francis, the kinship of Jesus
whom you especially loved
