The Morning Sermon on Saint Francis, 1255 - 516

set Christ as a seal upon his heart, as a seal upon his arm. Sg 8:6 Because Saint Francis set Christ crucified as a seal upon his arm, the precious gems of the stigmata of Jesus Christ appeared visibly on his body. This took place for understandable reasons by the glorious power of God.

Let no one begrudge God's generosity, but let everyone listen to and learn the teaching of Christ, indeed, of Saint Francis, that good teacher who taught others what he had learned without error, without guile, without forgetfulness, and without doubting. Saint Francis, therefore, can rightly say: Learn from me, to encourage others, and equally, for I am meek and humble of heart, to inspire them. Mt 20:15
