your company and to others both now and in the future, who have persevered until the end in every other monastery of the Poor Ladies.
6I, Clare, a handmaid of Christ, a little plant of our most holy father Francis, a sister and mother of you and the other poor sis- ters, although unworthy, 7beg our Lord Jesus Christ through His mercy and the intercession of His most holy Mother Mary and of blessed Michael the Archangel and of all the holy angels of God, of our blessed father Francis, and of all men and women saints, 8that the heavenly Father give you and confirm for you this most holy blessing in heaven and on earth: 9on earth, by multiplying you in grace and His virtues among His servants and handmaids in His Church Militant; 10in heaven, by exalting you and glorifying you among His holy men and women in His Church Triumphant.
11I bless you during my life and after my death, as I am able, out of all the blessings, 12with which the Father of mercies has blessed and will bless His sons and daughters in heaven and on earth 13and a spiritual father and mother have blessed and will bless their spiritual sons and daughters. Amen.
14Always be lovers of your souls and those of all your sisters.a 15And may you always be eager to observe what you have promised the Lord.
16May the Lord always be with you and may you always be with Him. Amen.
- While the majority of the manuscripts offer this reading, that of the Uppsala Collection (f.183r-v) adds “of God.” Cf. Écrits, 188.

11Benedico vos in vita mea et post mortem meam, sicut possum et plus quam possum, de omnibus benedictionibus, 12quibus Pater misericordiarum filiis et filiabus benedixit et benedicet in caelo et in terra; 13et pater et mater spiritualis filiis et filiabus suis spiritualibus et benedixit et benedicet. Amen.
14Estote semper amatrices Dei, animarum vestrarum et omnium sororum vestrarum; 15et sitis semper sollicitae observare quae Domino promisistis.
